Trenton’s Michael Baker scored the go-ahead touchdown with a 40 yard fourth quarter sprint, with Matthew Bowden adding insurance with a successful two-point conversion, as the Bulldog JV beat Chillicothe 20-12 on Monday night at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium.
THS opened the scoring with a five yard Baker scoring run in the opening quarter, with the Bulldogs up 6-0 after the opening quarter.
Chillicothe tied the game on an eight-yard run in the second quarter, with a Cooper Houser 35 yard touchdown run as 24 seconds remained in the half leaving the Bulldogs up 12-6 at the break.
In the third quarter, Chillicothe tied the game back at 12 on a 12 yard scoring run, setting the stage for Baker’s fourth quarter heroics.
For the Trenton defense, Logan Sahagun had an interception, with Camden Skipper and Chase Foster snaring fumble recoveries. Â
Baker had over 100 yards rushing for the Bulldogs, with the coaching staff crediting Bowden and Houser for their work in “running well between the tackles”. Camden Skipper, according to the coaches, had his “best game of the year”.
