The Trenton Lady Bulldogs shutout the Cameron Lady Dragons on Thursday night, winning by a score of 10-0 in a six-inning shutout.  The shutout, Trenton’s 15th of the 2018 season, establishes a new school record, originally set in 2009.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Bulldogs hopped on the board in the top of the 2nd inning, with Ainsley Tolson and Mykah Hurley, with back-to-back RBI singles, scoring McKayla Blackburn and Chandler Lynch.  Maci Moore followed with a three-run shot in left field to push the lead to 5-0.

In the third inning, Sidney Lynch hit a solo home run, her third of the season, upping Trenton’s lead to 6-0, with a bases-loaded walk to Moore making the lead 7-0.  Salem Croy hit her sixth home run of the fall leading off the 6th inning, making the score 8-0.  A bases-loaded pass to Blackburn, followed by an RBI single by Tolson, gave Trenton a 10-0 advantage.

From the circle, Tolson shut down the Lady Dragons offense, giving up two hits and striking out eight.  Weather permitting, Trenton’s final regular season game will be at Chillicothe on Monday afternoon at 5 o’clock, with coverage on Hot Country Z 101.7.

The THS JV was caught in the middle of a result with a 4-4 tie on Thursday night against the Cameron Lady Dragons.
Trenton jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first thanks to consecutive hits from Teya Cooksey, Chloe Harris, and Gracyn Rongey. Jaycie Griffin would drive in Rongey with a fielder’s choice.
Cameron would get right back in it and tie the game up at 3-3. JilliAnn Nichols would single and be driven home by Kammi Phillips to give Trenton a late lead.
Cameron wasn’t done, however, as they would rally in the last half inning of the game. After plating the tying run, the Dragons had second and third with no outs, and the Bulldogs were able to get out of the jam with a tie.
“We would’ve loved a win, but the girls really did a great job getting out a jam there at the end of the game,” JV Coach Kameron Cool said about the contest. “We have gotten a lot better in those spots as the year has progressed.”
