The Trenton Lady Bulldog varsity lost in straight sets to visiting East Buchanan on Monday night, falling by score of 25-4, 25-12, 25-8. Trenton’s offense was led by Evy McCullough’s three kills and four blocks, with Lilly Berti contributing a pair of kills, Ava Simpson five assists, and Jessa Shipley four digs.
Coach Pam Bowden acknowledged her team’s struggles, saying, “It was definitely not a stellar night for us. We will get a good practice in Tuesday, and look to rebound against South Harrison on Thursday and at the Carrollton Tournament on Saturday. Our varsity has a championship to defend!”
The Trenton JV won the first set against East Buchanan 26-24, but failed to close out the win, falling 25-7 in a second set blitz, then 15-13 in a hotly contested third set. Ally Yoder had two kills and two aces for THS, with Katie Markell adding two digs, and Kaylea Boyle two assists.
The Trenton C team lost in straight sets to the visitors out of Gower, 25-20, 25-22. Saige Gott had a kill and an ace for Trenton, with Lilly Woods adding an ace and a block, while Mackenzie Lewis had two aces.
