The Trenton Bulldogs downed the Richmond Spartans in boys high school tennis action on Thursday afternoon, grabbing a dominant 7-2 win to improve to 4-1 on the season, dropping Richmond to 1-2.
Trenton winners in singles were #1 Bradyn Sager (8-1 over Ivan McRoberts), #2 Victor Markell (8-3 over Brody Burnine), #3 Isaac Dixon (8-0 over Marqus Owens-Alexander), #4 Jacob White (8-6 over Paxton Quick), and #5 Jacob Horton (8-4 over Gabriel Baker). In the #6 singles match, Richmond’s Hunter Hamilton defeated Trenton’s Henry Lasley 8-4.
Trenton won two of the three doubles matches, with Sager and White defeating McRoberts and Quick 8-1 and Markell combining with Dixon for an 8-0 sweep of Burnine and Owens-Alexander. The Spartans claimed the #3 doubles duel, with Baker and Hamilton beating Jacob Horton and Henry Lasley 8-1.
In JV competition, Trenton’s Ryeland Kirk lost three singles match, falling to Carson Seek 6-4, Darius Maylon 6-4, and Abe Arthur 6-1.
