The Trenton Lady Bulldog team surged back into the win column on Tuesday afternoon, traveling to St. Joseph and beating the host LeBlond Golden Eagles in an 8-1 varsity decision at the Noyes Courts.

Just 24 hours after being shutout by rival Chillicothe on the road, Trenton showed good team strength on Tuesday, with Coach Tammy Ockenfels calling it “a great performance from all of the girls, a solid win on the road”.

The only varsity victory for the Eagles came at #3 singles, where Libby Weddle doubled up Trenton’s Kendall Crowley, 8-4.  Trenton took a pair of 8-love singles victories, with #5 Lexi Gott sweeping Reese Robertson and #6 Morgan Dolan doing the same to Sloan Lewis.

The final at #1 singles, a win for Emma Gilham of THS, was 8-4 over Peyton Netten, while Elle Neal, at #2 singles, was an 8-1 winner over Liberty Wiston, while Latorrie Johnson continued the Bulldogs strong play with an 8-3 win over Bailey Bell at #4 singles.

In varsity doubles, the #1 Trenton team of Gilham and Gott were an 8-5 winner over Netten and Wiston.  Neal and Johnson, at #2 doubles, scraped out a 9-7 win over Weddle and Bell, while at #3 doubles, Crowley and Dolan won 8-love over Robertson and Lewis.
