The Cameron Lady Dragons opened the 2021 volleyball season on Monday night with a straight sets, 25-7, 25-6, 25-6 win against the visiting Trenton Lady Bulldogs.

THS head coach Brad Ewald told KTTNSports.com, “It was a rough start to the season, with our serve/receive game rocky all night, making it difficult to get into a rhythm.”

Ava Simpson had four assists and Abby Simpson a pair of kills for Trenton, with both Makenzee Epperson and Lilly Berti adding an ace each.

Trenton will have two practices to get ready for a trip to Chillicothe to play the rival Lady Hornets, starting Thursday night at 5 o’clock.

Other 3 sets to zero sweeps across the region on Monday night included Nodaway Valley over Maysville, St. Joseph Christian over Union Star, LeBlond over Rock Port, and Benton over Maryville.  Santa Fe defeated the KCI Tournament champion Lawson Lady Cardinals 3 sets to 1.
