Longtime Brookfield teacher and coach Tim Thomason has been promoted to the head coaching seat with the Brookfield girls basketball team. He has an extensive background as an assistant coach, having worked with both boys and girls teams at Brookfield for nearly 25 years.

Thomason is taking over the head coaching position from Ronnie Sharp, who recently stepped down to support his daughter in her recovery from an injury.

Brookfield will spend the 2023-2024 school year as a member of the Clarence Cannon Conference, a northeast Missouri group of school districts extending from Clark County High School in Kahoka down to the likes of Macon, South Shelby, and Centralia High Schools to the south.  In the summer of 2024, Brookfield will join up with county rival Marceline in joining the nine-school Grand River Conference, placing Brookfield on the eastern side of a group that will include Milan, Putnam County, Trenton, Gallatin, Polo, South Harrison, and Maysville.
