Brookfield ends Trenton’s softball season, 11-3

The Brookfield Lady Bulldogs and Marceline Lady Tigers advanced to a Class 2, District 6 championship showdown with victories on Thursday night at Walt Disney Field in Marceline.

The Lady Tigers opened the night with a 2-0 victory over upset-seeking Milan, with Brookfield’s offense connecting for three runs in both the bottom of the 1st and 2nd innings, cruising to an 11-3 win over the Trenton Lady Bulldogs.

In the Brookfield-Trenton semifinal, broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3, Trenton got one inning of pitching work from Emma Roberts and five innings from Jenna Reeter.  Trenton had a 1-0 lead after 1/2 inning, scoring a run in the top of the first inning.  Trenton added single runs in the 3rd and 7th innings, with Brookfield scoring a run in the 5th, and putting the game away with four in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Maci Moore, in her final game for the Trenton program, was walked twice in four at-bats, scoring twice.  Reeter scored Trenton’s other run.  Madi Moore, Chandler Lynch, Jenna Reeter, and Chloe Harris had hits for Trenton, with Lynch connecting for a double and Reeter a triple.
