Brookfield edges Trenton in links duel, Clarkson takes medalist honors

The Brookfield Bulldogs shot 209 to visiting Trenton’s 216, with the “Blue Brand” of Bulldogs taking a head-to-head golf battle on Monday afternoon from the Brookfield Country Club.

Brookfield’s Sam Clarkson won a hotly contested individual battle for the medalist honors, shooting a 10-over par round of 46, besting teammate Dirk Sattman’s 47 and the top Trenton score of 48 turned in by Gavin Roeder.

Other Trenton scores were 55 from Chase Otto, 56 for Brycin Loyd, 57 from Patrick Behen, and 62 for Preston Harrison.  Brookfield had 53 from Andrew Bennett, 63 for Evan Morris, and a 69 turned in by Chase Morris.

Trenton junior varsity scores were Bo Meeker’s 63, Justin Hall with 70, and a 71 for Dagan Burkeybile.  Brookfield had a solid day from the JV level, with Kai Wiedeman and Brett Montgomery carding matching scores of 56, David Kimball a 58, Baylor Montgomery 65, and Ethan Huward 67.
