Jordan Kyrou scored two goals less than two minutes apart in the second period, and the St. Louis Blues rallied from an early two-goal deficit to beat the Seattle Kraken 3-2 in the season opener for both teams Tuesday.
Philip Broberg also scored for St. Louis, his goal sandwiched between Kyrou’s two.
Justin Faulk had assists on the first two goals, and Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway and Alexandre Texier added assists.
Vince Dunn and Eeli Tolvanen scored two minutes apart early in the second period for Seattle.
Jordan Binnington made 30 saves for the Blues, while Philipp Grubauer had 22 saves for the Kraken.
Kyrou’s goals came after St. Louis was held scoreless on 13 shots.
“The key was just staying patient and staying with it,” Kyrou said.
Seattle assistant coach Jessica Campbell became the first woman to be behind the bench as an assistant or associate coach in NHL history.
The Blues continue their season-opening three-game road trip Thursday at San Jose. The Kraken visit Minnesota on Saturday.
