Jordan Kyrou led the St. Louis Blues to a decisive 5-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at Enterprise Center on Wednesday night, scoring twice in a dominant performance.

Kyrou’s early goals, scored just 42 seconds apart in the first period, set the tone for the Blues’ offensive onslaught. He capitalized on a breakaway opportunity and then found the net again with assistance from Pavel Buchnevich, who achieved his 400th career point with the assist.

The Blues continued their barrage with goals from Torey Krug and Zack Bolduc, scoring four times in a span of less than five minutes. Krug’s goal marked the end of Blackhawks goalie Petr Mrazek’s night, as he was replaced by Arvid Soderblom.

Despite a goal from Philipp Kurashev in the second period and a late goal from Landon Slaggert, the Blackhawks couldn’t overcome the Blues’ early lead.

Robert Thomas contributed a goal and an assist for the Blues, while Brayden Schenn added two assists. Joel Hofer made 18 saves in goal for St. Louis, preserving their slim playoff hopes.

The victory keeps the Blues in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, trailing the Vegas Golden Knights by five points with a game in hand.

Next up, the Blues will face the Carolina Hurricanes at home on Friday night, while the Blackhawks will host the Nashville Predators.

NHL scores from Wednesday, April 10, 2024:

Arizona Coyotes 4, Vancouver Canucks 3 (OT)
