Ryan Blaney took a NASCAR cup race for the second time this season, beating William Byron to the finish line by 0.077 seconds in Sunday’s race from Michigan International Speedway.  The result marked the closest finish in a NASCAR race since electronic scoring began.

The win for Blaney is the sixth of his career, with his day starting in the third position for Team Penske, although he quickly fell behind the early pace set by Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Byron.  Elliott fell off the pace after a stall in the pits, with two late yellows bunching the field, allowing Blaney the opportunity to rally into the top five.  Blaney took the lead on the final restart, thanks to assistance from Kyle Busch, and took the No. 12 Ford to victory lane.

Sunday’s race was broadcast on the Motor Racing Network, and heard locally on Hot Country Z 101.7.
