Bethany Speedway hosted an exhilarating race event on Saturday, June 8, with a brief sprinkle marking the start. Following the driver’s meeting, cars swiftly entered the track, and only 10-15 minutes of packing set the track up for a smooth and fast night. The event was one of the best shows from start to finish, and the kids’ bike giveaway was a huge success.

In the Emods class, #H2K Coleman Browning took the lead early and secured the win. #11M Lane Mathews finished second, followed by #3 Jared Hillyard, #14H Blake Hayes, and #16E Johnny Eads rounding out the top five.

The Pure Stock class saw #11J Jake Starmer in control for most of the season, but #15E Eddy Noll took the lead on lap one and maintained it to win. Starmer finished strong in second place. #55T Mich Ross was third, #11S Tyler Starmer fourth, and #19X Bill Munsen fifth.

In the Bmod class, #6T Michael Taylor III, one of the fastest cars for the last three weeks, took it to Victory Lane. #73 Truman Asher and #91J Jaylen Wettengel battled for second, with Asher finishing ahead. #66X Chris Wright was fourth, and #81 Austin Charles finished fifth.

#7 Shayne Bailey led every lap to victory. #5 Tommy Cordray, improving every week, finished second. #33 Paul Glendenning was third, #7J Jenna Johnson fourth, and #55D Mike Dotson, last week’s winner, finished fifth despite a blown motor.

Stock cars provided exciting racing as usual. The feature started with the top six cars shuffling positions and running three-wide. #37 Randy Foote picked up his third straight win, maintaining no worse than second this season. #J211 Derek Brown led much of the feature but finished second as Foote moved up one lane. #11J Wettengel, doing double duty, finished third, with #34X Mich Ross and #0F Mason Beck finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Compact class offered the closest racing through the heat races. #5J Jeremy Sims took the lead, with #9X Samuel Moore in second. Moore moved up one lane and ran beside Sims for the second half of the feature, but Sims held on to win his first race at Bethany Speedway. Moore was second, #35 Chris Wright finished third, #13U Dylan Bruhn fourth, and #48 Cody Rigsby fifth.

Bethany Speedway has canceled the races for June 15 to allow weekly drivers to race in the Mike Tanner Memorial. The Speedway will return to action on July 13 for the Greg Querry Celebration, which was the biggest single-night race in Northwest Missouri last year.
