The Chicago Bears have announced the signings of wide receiver Byron Pringle to a one-year contract and defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to a two-year deal.
Pringle, a former Kansas State Wildcat, had played the previous four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played in four consecutive AFC Championship Games and a pair of Super Bowls. In 2021, he caught 42 passes for 568 yards, helping the Chiefs to an AFC West championship.
However, in Chicago, Pringle goes from a 12-5 team to a rebuilding 6-11 squad, switching quarterbacks from All-Pro Patrick Mahomes to second-year youngster Justin Fields.
Muhammad, playing for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021, had a career-high six sacks, with his move to Chicago reuniting him with new Bears coach Matt Eberflus, who served as Colts defensive coordinator last season.
Chicago has also announced the signing of free safety DeAndre Houston-Carson to a one-year deal, bringing the six year veteran back to the Windy City.
