Missouri running back Tyler Badie ran over 197 yards while scoring touchdowns through the air and on the ground, while quarterback Connor Bazelak threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, in the Tigers 34-24 on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in Columbia.
Central Michigan was a proverbial “thorn” in the side of the Tigers all day long, with Chippewas quarterback Jacob Sirmon, a transfer from Washington, throwing for 292 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Lew Nichols III ran for 135 yards and a score.
Central Michigan coach Jim McElwain missed the game after undergoing an appendectomy on Wednesday, being replaced on the sideline by longtime assistant Tim Skipper.
Missouri’s level of competition will ramp up next week with an SEC trip to Lexington to play the Kentucky Wildcats, with a 4:30 pregame and 6:30 kickoff on September 11th on KTTN FM 92.3.
