#1 seed Meadville boys to play for Northwestern Tournament title

The Meadville boys took a Thursday night semifinal in Mendon, defeating Higbee 60-38 in the Northwestern Invitational Basketball Tournament.  The win sends the Eagles into the title game, where the Northwestern Eagles will be waiting on Saturday night at 7:30.  Northwestern, on Thursday night, grabbed a 75-64 win over the Linn County Mustangs.

In the boys third place game, Saturday afternoon at 4:30, Linn County will take on Higbee.  Brunswick and Keytesville will play in the boys consolation final at 7 o’clock Friday night.

On the girls side, Higbee and Hale are through to the championship round, as Higbee beat Northwestern 58-51 and Hale doubled up Linn County 58-29 in Thursday night’s semifinals.  Higbee and Hale will play on Saturday night at 6 o’clock in Mendon.

In the girl’s third place game, Friday night at 8:30, Northwestern will take on Linn County, while the Meadville Lady Eagles duel with Bucklin-Macon County in the girl’s consolation game, Friday night at 5:30.
