Trenton Head Coach Charlie Bacon called it “a tough day” on Saturday as the Bulldog wrestling team participated in the Marceline Tournament. Top THS performances among the boys were Jadan Whitney placing second in the A Pool at 195 pounds and Brice Gilber finishing third in the B Pool at 132 pounds.
Whitney and Gibler each had a record of 3-1. Caleb Johnson was 2-2 to place 4th in the 182 pound class of the B Pool.
In the girls division, Ann Airey placed second with a 3-1 record in the 152 pound weight class. Teresa Burkholder was 2-2 to finish 3rd at 131 pounds. Coach Bacon indicated he was “happy with the improvement of the two girls throughout the day”.
Trenton travels to Gallatin on Tuesday night for an all-Grand River Conference “Bulldog triangular” with the defending GRC champion Gallatin Bulldogs and the South Harrison Bulldogs.
