The University of Missouri’s football program is dealing with a recent arrest of a student-athlete, as starting wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. was taken into custody on Tuesday after failing to appear in court.
Wease’s troubles with the law began in February, when he was charged with failure to wear a seat belt after being stopped in Columbia. That ticket, according to the Columbia Missourian, went unpaid, leading to a summons issued in March. A warrant for his arrest followed in May.
As of mid-week, the MU program, including head coach Eli Drinkwitz, had not issued a statement on the matter.
