The Vegas Golden Knights are making history again, becoming the first team to have the Stanley Cup fully engraved with every champion’s name before the traditional summer celebrations.
This decision by the Golden Knights’ front office allows all 52 members of the organization to have their names engraved on the Cup and celebrate with it. Keeper of the Cup Phil Pritchard and the Hockey Hall of Fame hope this becomes a new tradition.
The Cup is currently being engraved and will embark on its worldwide summer tour after completion. The tradition of every player getting a day with the Cup began in 1994-95 with the New Jersey Devils.
The Golden Knights celebrated their historic win with a parade down the Las Vegas Strip and a rally outside their home arena. The Cup’s first destination after engraving is yet to be determined.
