The Great Lakes Valley Conference, on Friday, conducted its preseason football poll, with the opinions of the eight coaches made, with each coach not allowed to vote for their own team. The University of Indianapolis was deemed the favorite, with five of eight first-place votes. Lindenwood University is in the runner-up position with the other three first-place tallies, followed by Truman State, Missouri S&T, McKendree, Southwest Baptist, William Jewell, and Quincy.
The GLVC, due to COVID-19, moved the 2020 regular season to this past April, with UIndy defeated Truman State in the spring-shortened season. After a runner-up finish in the spring, TSU looks to make a surge toward the top this fall, returning quarterback Nolan Hair, the reigning conference freshman of the year after throwing for 818 yards and nine touchdowns in four games last spring.
In the College Football America Yearbook D-2 preseason Top 30, announced in late July, UIndy appeared at No. 20, with Lindenwood checking in at #21, and Truman State at #29.
Here are the complete voting results from GLVC media day:
Indianapolis – (5) 47
Lindenwood – (3) 44
Truman State – 37
Missouri S&T – 32
McKendree – 24
Southwest Baptist – 19
