Ridge Stagner of St. Joseph Benton High School outlasted Trenton High School senior Bradyn Sager in Class 1, Section 8 individual tennis action, advancing to the state tournament with a 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 victory.
The Section 8 event matched district champions against district runner-up finishers from Class 1, Districts 15 and 16, with Cole Horton of Savannah routing Anthony Trantham of Chillicothe in the other singles battle 6-0, 6-0.
Doubles sectional finals saw Maryville’s Kason Teale and Jaxson Staples upending Carrollton’s Corey Terryberry and Carson Fisher 6-2, 6-0; while Savannah’s Noah Gould and Brighton Kurre downed Chillicothe’s Jadon Collins and Joshua Adams 6-3, 6-2.
