The Trenton Bulldogs boys golf team competed in the Park Hill Tournament at Tiffany Greens on Thursday, finishing in 11th place in the 17 school field, with a team score of 357. THS senior Nate Swann had a superb day, with an 18-hole score of two-over par 74 placing him in a three-way tie for 4th place individually, with Parker Jones of Lee’s Summit West and Jackson McGuire of Lee’s Summit.
Sam Parrott of Liberty High School won medalist honors with a one-under score of 71, winning a tiebreak against Liberty North’s Drew Neuerburg. Ryan Graves of Park Hill was third at even-par 72.
Liberty North won the team competition at 313, three strokes better than runner-up Liberty’s 316. Lee’s Summit West, with a score of 317, was third, followed by Lee’s Summit (320), Lee’s Summit North (325), Kearney (338), Staley (339), Smithville (341), Park Hill South (346), and Park Hill (355).
Trenton’s team score of 357 put the Bulldogs ahead of Blue Springs, Raymore-Peculiar, North Kansas City, Fort Osage, Oak Park, and Winnetonka.
Bulldog junior Lathan Croy had a strong day with a round of 84. Other Trenton scores were 98 from Luke Lewis, 101 from Corbyn Guile, and a 115 shot by Connor Cotton.
Trenton’s golf team will get right back into action this (Friday) afternoon, traveling to Marceline for a 4 o’clock duel. On Monday, the Bulldogs host Putnam County and Princeton at 4 o’clock at Riverside Country Club.
