The Trenton Lady Bulldog volleyball team improved their record to 2-4 last (Monday) night, claiming a two-set win at Penney High School of Hamilton, 25-18, 25-10. The victory is the second in a row for Amanda King’s squad, coming off of Thursday’s decision at Carrollton. Trenton will aim for a third victory in a row tonight (Tuesday night) at South Harrison.
Individual statistics are not yet available for the Hamilton match. For Thursday night’s victory at Carrollton, THS had Melea Farmer with 6 assists and 6 digs; Teresa Yoder with 5 kills and 4 digs; Karli Provorse with 5 kills, 5 blocks, and 4 digs; while Saedee Jackson and Laura Carlson both had four digs.
The Trenton JV took a win at Penney, 25-19, 25-18.
South Harrison will enter Tuesday’s home match with Trenton off of a home setback to Lathrop on Monday night, as the Lady Mules won in Bethany by a final of 25-14, 25-22. Brooke Blanton had six kills and six blocks to pace South Harrison’s attack.
The Benton Lady Cardinals appear to have one of the top volleyball squads this fall in northwest Missouri, with the “South Siders” improving to 9-0 last night with a 25-20, 25-13 win over Chillicothe. Mia Henderson had a dominant night at the net for Benton, with 19 kills. Alyia Stillman had 20 blocks and Sabrina Sosa 10 digs for the winners. The Lady Hornets had three kills from Maggie Pfaff, four assists from Elli Ross, and seven digs from Kylie Larson.
Bishop LeBlond fell in straight sets to St. Michael the Archangel on Monday night, 25-12, 25-22, dropping the Eagles early season mark to 2-3.
On Saturday, Mid-Buchanan won the KCI Conference’s volleyball tournament over Lawson, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22, with West Platte claiming third place over North Platte, 25-13, 25-16.
