The Trenton Bulldogs shot a team score of 334, good for a 7th place tie (with St. Joseph Central) at Friday’s Richmond Invitational at Shirkey Golf Course. Hank Lierz of the team champions from Bishop LeBlond earned individual medalist honors, with a round of 70. William Esrey of Pembroke Hill shot 72 for second place.
LeBlond had the only sub-300 score of the day, shooting 294. Warrensburg was second at 310, followed by Pembroke Hill, Columbia Rock Bridge, Kansas City Rockhurst, and Maryville.
Immediately behind Trenton’s 334 in the standings were Lawson (9th – 343) and Cameron (11th – 348).
Sam Morrison of Cameron was a top-10 finisher, shooting 77 for a 3-way tie for 10th place. Other area scores were Lawson’s Tanner Smith at 78 and Cody Glenn at 79; Trenton’s Nate Swann with 80; Trenton’s Lathan Croy at 83, Cameron’s Chase Foreman and Trenton’s Cree Mullenix both at 84; Trenton’s Corbyn Guile at 87, Cameron’s Tanner Slover at 92,. Cameron’s Kyler Hill and Spencer Teel both at 95, Trenton’s Tucker Franklin at 96; and Lawson’s Jacob Taylor at 98.
Twenty-two schools competed in Friday’s golf tournament at Richmond.
