Trenton R-IX athletic officials have announced a series of rules for those attending home sporting events for Trenton Middle School and Trenton High School in the 2020-2021 season, in hopes of helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Grundy County.
In stating the goal is to help keep students, staff, and the community safe in the midst of the continuing pandemic, Trenton R-IX will be limiting attendance at basketball and wrestling events to four tickets for each student-athlete for each game for Trenton and two tickets for each student-athlete for the visiting teams at each event. The tickets will only work for that night’s event. Those without a ticket will not be allowed inside the gymnasium.
All fans in attendance at a basketball and wrestling contest at Trenton will be required to wear a mask at all times. In addition, any child not in high school must be accompanied by an adult and remain with that adult at all times throughout the game, with fans encouraged to sit with their families during the game.
As it pertains to concession stands at Trenton High School, they will be serving a limited menu and bottled drinks only. Lines are to be socially distanced, and no eating areas will be provided. This includes the tables in the commons area not being available for use.
Trenton R-IX is planning on moving all Trenton Middle School wrestling and basketball events to the Trenton High School gymnasium, using the greater size to more easily social distance.
Charge for games will be $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for students, and free for senior citizens. Exact cash would be appreciated for the gate at all winter home athletic contests, in hopes of keeping the amount of potential virus spread through the trading of cash to a minimum.
