Two years ago, on a busy Saturday afternoon during Trenton’s annual Missouri Day Festival, the Lathrop Mules locked horns with the Trenton Bulldogs in a Class 2 state quarterfinal contest, with the Lady Mules advancing to the state semifinals with a one-run victory at Mark Griffin Field. This Wednesday night, with a spot in Saturday’s state quarterfinals going to the winner, the two teams will have a rematch. The battle between the KCI’s Mules and the GRC’s Bulldogs will start at 6 o’clock on Wednesday night, one of eight Class 2 sectional games to the be played across the state.
The Marceline Lady Tigers, winners of District 7, will travel to Columbia to play the Tolton Catholic Trail Blazers. First pitch is scheduled for 6 o’clock. Meanwhile, in Richmond, the Lady Spartans take an 11-13 record into a rematch with 24-6 Holden. The game there will start at 6 o’clock, with the winner taking on the Lathrop-Trenton survivor on Saturday.

Bowling Green at Highland (Ewing) – 5:00 PM
Blair Oaks at Cuba – 5:30 PM
Willow Springs at Warsaw – 5:00 PM
The Grand River Conference, in addition to Trenton in Class 2, will be represented by the Stanberry Lady Bulldogs, the Maysville Lady Wolverines and the Braymer Lady Bobcats in the Class 1 sectional round. On Wednesday night, North Harrison, coming off of Monday night’s 8-7 win over Princeton, travels to Stanberry for a 5:30 first pitch. Meanwhile Braymer plays at Maysville at 5:30. Knox County will be at LaPlata at 5:30, with Meadville at Brunswick in a 6 o’clock first pitch.
