Trenton High School senior Lexi Whitaker, a three-sport student-athlete (track and field, basketball, softball) for the Lady Bulldog sports programs, signed a letter of intent with the Northwest Missouri State track and field program on Wednesday morning, passing on opportunities to continue her softball career to attend the MIAA school in Maryville and run for the Bearcats.

Whitaker, a strong hurdler for the Bulldogs, in addition to being a starting forward for the basketball team and strong catcher and power-hitter for the softball squad, is expected to add instant straight line speed and agility into the Northwest track program.  She spoke about her decision with KTTN Sports Director Tom Johnson:

There was another local track and field standout signing with a MIAA program on Wednesday morning, as Penney High School (Hamilton, MO) senior Graycen Prothero inked with the Missouri Western Griffons.
