The Trenton Middle School track and field teams traveled to Lathrop on Thursday, where both the TMS 7th and 8th grade boys finished in 3rd place, while the TMS girls, with 105 1/2 points, had a very competitive sixth place. North Platte edged Lawson, 162-160, to win the girls title, followed by Lathrop (147), West Platte (132), and Polo (106). Twelve schools were represented at the Lathrop Middle School Relays.
For the Trenton boys, Trevor Murphy was the 1st place winner in the shot put, with a throw of 37 feet. The 8th grade 4 by 100 relay team of Trevor Murphy, Keegan Brown, Cayson Harper, and Tyler Siemer were second, with Brown second in the pole vault, and Trent Crawford runner-up in the 1600 meter run.
In the boys 7th grade division, Nicholas Smith was first place in the 100 hurdles (19.08 seconds), while the 4 by 200 relay team of Anthony Sanchez, Frankie Halstead, Nicholas Smith, and Jarek Habelitz was first, in 1 minute, 59.41 seconds.
Also for the 7th graders, Ian Elbert was third in the long jump, Dylan Spencer 2nd in the discus, Gavin Chambers third in the pole vault, and Jarek Habelitz third in the 100 meter dash. The TMS 7th grad 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relay teams had second place finishes.
For the TMS girls, the 4 by 100 relay team of Savannah Triplet, Mallory Sole, Victoria Swann, and Megan Spencer took the win in their race, in a time of 58.79 seconds. The Lady Bulldogs were second in the 4 by 200 and third in the 4 by 400 relays. Triplet was second in the high jump and Summer Martin 2nd place in the pole vault, while Gracyn Rongey took three third place finishes, in the 1600 meter run, 800 meter run, and triple jump.
The Trenton Middle School teams continue their spring season on Monday afternoon in St. Joseph, participating the Christian School Relays. Field events begin at 4 o’clock, with the running events at 4:30.
