The Trenton Lady Bulldogs, after a postseason run that saw the volleyball program come within two points off an unprecedented spot in a district championship match, celebrated its team on Wednesday night with the end-of-the-season banquet in the Trenton High School Commons.
The entire team earned Most Valuable Player honors from Coach Pam Bowden, who noted that “it took each member to attain a successful year!”
The statistical category leaders for THS volleyball were Allena Allen with most aces, Ava Simpson with the top number of assists, Evy McCullough leading in both kills and blocks, and Kenzie Yuille, Jessa Shipley, and Natalie Ricker with digs.
The team voted awards went to Makenzee Epperson, Juliet Schmadeke, and Ava Simpson as Most Improved, Epperson and Allena Allen as “The Ace”, Epperson, Lilly Berti, and McCullough as “The Crusher”, Berti and Mackenzie Klinginsmith as Team Captain, Katie Markell, Olivia Roberts, and McCullough for Most Improved Serve; KayLea Boyle and Simpson for Most Improved Setter; Ally Yoder and Klinginsmith for Best Team Spirit; Yoder and McCullough for Most Coachable; and Markell and Yuille as “The Scrapper”.
