The Trenton Bulldog junior varsity basketball teams claimed a pair of Thursday night victories at Gallatin High School, beating South Harrison in the Gallatin JV Tournament semifinals.
The Lady Bulldogs used a 12-0 advantage in the first quarter to run away from South Harrison in a 50-15 blowout victory. Kennedy Norton led Trenton with 17 points, with Maci Henson adding 15, McKayla Blackburn 10, and Lexi Whitaker eight. Trenton advances to the tournaments final, Saturday afternoon at 12:30.
The Trenton JV boys had a closer game, but a win none-the-less against South Harrison, 44-33. THS led 22-20 at the half, but the defense helped spur a 20-6 run to start the second half that tipped the game in Trenton’s favor. Carson Burchett had 18 points to pace Trenton, with Isaac Harris adding 11, and Kade Ockenfels 10 points.
The win pushes the JV boys to 8-1 on the season. The Trenton boys will play at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the Gallatin JV Tournament.
