The Trenton Lady Bulldog JV jumped out to a 13-0 lead over Maysville after one quarter, and won the Gallatin Tournament’s championship game, 38-14 on Saturday afternoon. McKayla Blackburn had 10 points and Lexi Whitaker eight for Trenton. Kennedy Norton and Maci Henson each had seven points for the winners.
The Gallatin JV boys won their own tournament with a 30-22 victory, giving Trenton only its second loss of the season. A slow start cost Trenton, as the visitors fell behind 11-2 early in the first quarter, but used strong defense to pull within 12-11 by halftime.
A fourth-quarter Gallatin run sent GHS to the tourney title.
The Trenton JV teams will travel to Milan on Monday night to play the Wildcats in doubleheader action, starting at 6 o’clock.
