The Trenton wrestling team traveled to Polo High School on Thursday night, returning home with a 54-30 win over the host Panthers and a 37-25 triumph over Marceline.
Gavin Cagle opened the night for the Bulldogs with a pin at heavyweight, followed by pins from Charlie Riley, Gavin Chambers, Coleman Griffin, and Sam Gibson in amassing 54 points.
Against Marceline, Riley was the first to score points for Trenton, while Brayden Hughs lost a hard-fought match at 132 that lasted until the final seconds, 11-9 to Cole Griffin of the Tigers. Coleman Griffin had a major decision win at 152, with the match of the night coming at 160, with Kaden Owen of Trenton outlasting Ryder Gooch of Marceline by a tally of 8-6.
Sam Gibson and Caleb Johnson finished the night for the Bulldogs with a pair of pins.

At 120 pounds, Gracey Jordan of Marceline pinned Mercy Schweizer. At 149 pounds, Ella Lowe of the Tigers beat Avery Clark of the Bulldogs by pin.
Trenton beat Polo in girls wrestling 15-12. Jacey Hudson of Trenton beat Mesa Welch by pin at 235 pounds, with Mercy Schweizer taking points by forfeit at 120, and Allison Yoder of THS, at 159 pounds, grabbing a 9-2 decision over Malia Bell. At 149 pounds, Polo’s Valorie Gabrielli took a pin over Avery Clark of Trenton.
