Trenton girls win TMS Relays, Bulldog boys 2nd behind champion Milan Wildcats

The Trenton girls scored 129 points to roll to a team win at Tuesday’s Trenton Middle School Relays, with Plattsburg in second place (72 points) and Hamilton 3rd (58).   The Milan Middle School boys, with 72 points, won the TMS Relays, clipping the host Trenton Bulldogs total of 70 points.  The South Harrison boys were 3rd, with 66 points.  Other schools at C.F. Russell Stadium were Princeton, Maysville, Gallatin, Carrollton, Putnam County, Laredo, Tri-County, Winston, Gilman City, and Pattonsburg.

Starting with individual results in the high jump, the wins were taken by Plattsburg 7th grader Aliana Rawlings and Princeton 8th grader Zeb Schwarzkopf.  Trenton 8th grader Lexi Gott finished in a 2nd place tie with Hamilton 8th grader Julia Kanoy.

Allison Vaughn, a Carrollton 7th grader, won the girls pole vault.  South Harrison 7th grader Braden Spurling won the boys pole vault.

The girls long jump win went to Princeton 7th grader Lauren Krohn, with Trenton’s Emma Curtis 2nd and Gwyneth Foster 3rd.  Pattonsburg 8th grader Cameron Jones won the boys long jump, with Hamilton’s Sawyer Morrow in second place.

The triple jump winners were Hamilton 8th grader Morgan Hartley (Trenton’s Maci Moore was 2nd and Gracyn Rongey 3rd) and Pattonsburg’s Cameron Jones.  Trenton’s Quincy Griffin was 2nd and Princeton’s Schwartzkopf in third place.

In the discus toss, the wins went to Milan 7th grader Cady Pauley and Putnam County 8th grader Colder Evans.  Milan’s Deric Doporto was 2nd and South Harrison’s Luke Karns in third place.

The shot put wins were snagged by Trenton 8th grader Maci Moore, with a toss of 39 feet, 5 inches (Milan’s Pauley was 2nd) and South Harrison 8th grader Colby Yslas, with Evans of Putnam County in second place and Riley Shoemaker of Milan in third position.

The 100 meter hurdles races went to Hamilton 8th grader Brighton Swindler (Trenton’s Janessa Van Hoozer was third) and Trenton 8th grader Camdyn Leeper (17.47 seconds).  Hamilton’s Rylan Allsup was third.

In the 100 meter dash, Plattsburg’s Aliana Rawlings beat Trenton’s Foster by 0.06 seconds (14.02 to 14.08 seconds) for the win.  Dom Dabney of Milan ran 12.03 seconds to get a victory for the Wildcats, 0.42 seconds ahead of runner-up Yslas of South Harrison.

The 200 meter dash was won, on the girls side, by Trenton’s Gwyneth Foster, with a time of 29.41 seconds, 0.02 seconds ahead of Hamilton’s Brighton Swindler.  Dom Dabney of Milan won the boys 200, in a time of 24.05 seconds.  Quincy Griffin of Trenton (27.11) was third.

Princeton’s Lauren Krohn won the 400 meter dash for the girls, with a time of 1:05.09.  Trenton’s Foster was 2nd.  Milan’s Dom Dabney took the boys 400 crown, at 53.13 seconds.  Trenton’s Leeper was 3rd (1:00.87).  Lexie McClelland of Plattsburg won the girls 800 meter run, with Gallatin’s Hemry 2nd.  Winston’s Login Goll ran 2:17.48 to win the boys 800, with Trenton’s Chase Otto (2:18.25) second, and Gallatin’s Johnny Stout in third place.

The Trenton girls squad of Lexi Gott, Emilee Lovell, Evy McCullough, and Emma Curtis won the 4 by 200 relay (2:00.37), with Maysville 2nd and Plattsburg 3rd.  The South Harrison boys (Spurling, Sunderman, Weller, Yslas) won the boys 4 by 200, followed by Carrollton and Trenton (Bouzek, Loyd, Cornwell, Griffin).  The 4 by 100 girls relay went to the Trenton Lady Bulldogs entry of Curtis, Lovell, Moore, and Gott, running 56.82 seconds.  Princeton was 3rd, just behind Plattsburg.  Carrollton’s boys won the 4 by 100 race (50.60 seconds), with South Harrison 2nd and Trenton (53.34) third.  In the 4 by 400, Trenton continued its domination of the girls relays, with Gott, Rongey, McCullough, and Curtis running 4:46.17 to get the victory, 3/4 of a second ahead of Princeton’s (Barnes, Allen, Westerhoff, Krohn) time of 4:46.92.  The Trenton boys won the 4 by 400 relay, with Austin Bouzek, Gavin Roeder, Chase Otto, and Camdyn Leeper recording a time of 4:08.36, over 10 seconds ahead of runner-up Milan.  Putnam County was third.

The winners in the 1600 meter run were Gallatin’s Claire Hemry (6:12.22) and Winston Login Goll (5:12.53).  In the girls race, Trenton’s Van Hoozer was 3rd and Rongey 4th.  For the Trenton boys, Owen Brown had a 2nd place finish, 20 seconds behind Goll.
