The defending Grand River Conference champion Trenton Lady Bulldogs will have the top seed for the annual Gallatin Invitational Tournament, running from Monday, November 27th through Saturday, December 2nd at the Gallatin High School gymnasium. Five GRC teams, including Trenton, are included in the eight-team field, in addition to the HDC Conference’s Winston Lady Redbirds and Gilman City Ladyhawks, and from down south, the Lady Bulldogs of Hardin-Central.
Girls quarterfinals at the GIT will be played over the first two days of the tournament, with two games on Monday the 27th, and two more the following day. As the #1 seed, Trenton drew the #8 seeded Winston Lady Redbirds in a 4:30 tip on Tuesday, November 28th, with the 7:30 girls game that night being #2 seed Gallatin hosting Gilman City.
Girls quarterfinals on Monday, November 27th will be #3 seed Hardin-Central against Polo at 4:30, with #4 seed Braymer challenged by Maysville at 7 o’clock.
The girls consolation semifinals will be played at 4:30 and 7 o’clock on Wednesday, November 29th, with the championship semifinals on Thursday, November 30th (a Trenton quarterfinal win would have the Lady Bulldogs in the 4:30 game, against either Braymer or Maysville). The girls consolation final is at 4:30 PM on Friday, December 1st, with the 3rd place game later that evening at 7 o’clock. The GIT’s girls championship game will be played at 1:15 in the afternoon on Saturday, December 2nd.
Prior to the Gallatin Tournament, Trenton opens its season in a 6 o’clock game on Tuesday, November 21st at East Buchanan High School in Gower. That game will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7, with audio streaming available from KTTNSports.com (on the “Listen to KTTN” link).
