The #1 seed Princeton Tigers and #2 seed Penney Hornets remain on a potential collision course in Class 1, District 8, with both conference champions taking decisive home field victories to open postseason play on Friday night.
In Hamilton, the Hornets shutout the Milan Wildcats, winning by a score of 35-0, while in Princeton, in action broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3, the Tigers improved to 10-0 with a 55-8 victory over the Maysville Wolverines.
Those results send both teams into the District 8 semifinals this Friday night, with the Hornets hosting the Putnam County Midgets, while the Tigers, on KTTN FM 92.3, will welcome the South Harrison Bulldogs to Eddie Allen Field.
Both South Harrison and Putnam County opened district play with road wins on Friday night, with Putnam County winning on Gallatin’s field for the second time in three weeks, taking a 32-22 triumph. South Harrison kept its late-season momentum rolling, with a 38-20 victory at Polo High School.
