The Trenton Lady Bulldog tennis team picked up early season momentum on Thursday night, defeating the visiting Cameron Lady Dragons 8-1 on “Pink Out Night” at the Bosley-Carpenter Courts at THS.
Trenton claimed victories in six of the seven singles matches, and all three double matches at thd varsity level, with the only setback coming at the #1 singles level, with Zuzanna Twarowska of Cameron winning over Astrid Soriano 8-2. Trenton’s Lydia Leininger beat Cali Teel 8-4, with other Bulldog winners Jillian Voorhies (8-5 over Jeeya Patel), Chloie Hall (8-0 over Autumn Dotson), Kaytee Wright (8-1 over Harley Burton), and Faith Lee (8-0 over Hayley Miller).
Doubles results were Trenton’s Soriano and Leininger over Twarowska and Teel (9-7), Voorhies and Hall over Patel and Dotson (8-3), and Wright and Lee over Burton and Miller 8-2.
In junior varsity competition, Trenton beat the Dragons 5 matches to 1. Results were:
