The Trenton High School softball program will have new leadership for the 2021 fall season, with THS alum Madi Stillwell (Trump) named head coach of the Lady Bulldogs last spring. After years of success on the diamond, the Lady Bulldogs slipped a bit in 2020, falling shy of the goal of a district title, continuing a downward trend that hit after a runner-up Class 2 finish in 2018 that saw the graduation of several key seniors.
The 2021 season is right on the horizon, with the Lady Bulldogs opening play at the Cameron Tournament on the weekend of August 27th and 28th. On Monday, August 30th, Trenton’s home opener will see a visit from the Albany Warriors, with the Grand River Conference Eastern Division opener at Putnam County the following night.
With MSHSAA’s week-long “dead period” on high school sporting events ending on Sunday night, Trenton’s softball program will join the other fall sports teams with opening practice on Monday (August 9th).
Coach Stillwell indicates that until the start of school, THS practices will run Monday through Friday, mornings from 7:30 to 9:30. There will also be a parent meeting for all high school player parents on Monday night (August 9th) at 5:30 at Trenton High School.
