The Trenton Bulldog football team showed flashes of increased size and speed on Friday night, but did struggle with a number of fumbles, in an intra-squad scrimmage on the turf of C.F. Russell Stadium.
The scrimmage finished off a two-week stretch of practices for a Bulldog team looking to make significant surges in both level of play and in the win column this fall for head coach Kevin Hixson:
While all focus is on beating what is expected to be a young Brookfield team under a new coach next Friday night, Coach Hixson also is aiming for a Bulldog program that has hit recent struggles in the Grand River Conference to begin to turn C.F. Russell Stadium into the traditionally tough place to win for visitors that it has been known for over its time as the “Home of the Bulldogs”:
You can hear Trenton at Brookfield next Friday night, August 27th at 7 o’clock, with Tom Johnson on the call from historic Burlington Field, with “Football Frenzy” starting the night of football coverage at 5:30. The station of broadcast will be officially announced early next week, as will the station of broadcast for the season debut of “Dawg Bites”, from Trenton Hy-Vee, on Thursday night, August 26th from 6 to 7 o’clock. Technical issues could switch those broadcasts from their regular home of 101.7 FM KGOZ to 92.3 FM KTTN for the first week of the football season.
