The Milan girls and boys won Class 3, District 16 championships at the Ketcham Community Center in late February, with the Lady Wildcats honored with the naming of starting forwards Cady Pauley and Auburn Cole to the all-district team, while the Milan boys had Chekh Niasse, Ahmet Niasse, and Jeremy Bennett to the All-District team.
The Trenton girls finished second place in district play, falling to Milan in the championship game on Friday, February 25th. Three Lady Bulldogs, in senior guard Chandler Lynch, along with senior forward Morgan King and freshman guard Mirena King, were named all-district.
Other girls named to the squad were Carrollton junior Savannah Reinke and seniors Raegan Pierson and Chloe Lock, South Harrison sophomore Hannah Carter and senior Emily Miller, and Marceline junior Addison Huber.
Ched Hurley of the Milan Lady Wildcats was named District 16 girls coach of the year.
In addition to Milan’s Niasse brothers and Jeremy Bennett, Trenton High School freshman Kiefer Tolson was named all-district, in addition to Hamilton’s Andrew Rich, Marceline’s Wyatt Molloy and Will Heller, South Harrison’s Jad Cornett, Carrollton’s Treyton Bennett, and Brookfield’s Bryson Collier.
Andrea Dabney of the Milan Wildcats was named boys Class 3, District 16 coach of the year.
