The Princeton Tigers and Mercer Cardinals both had two players named as Class 1, All-District 14 performers, in voting results announced earlier this week.
From the district champion Tigers, Preston Thomas and Austin Kelly both were named to the squad, joining Jon Johnson and Cam Hartley of the runner-up Mercer Cardinals. In a well-balanced district, the remaining six spots were taken by Winston’s Jakub Hisel, North Harrison’s Brett Emig, Steven Willhite, and Kaden Koch, and Pattonsburg’s duo of Dylan McCrary and Carter Crone.
Named to the girls All-District 14 team were Jillian Plymell, Webby Bailey, and Grace Warner of the champion Pattonsburg Lady Panthers, joined by Tori Meinecke, Aubrey Wilson, and Rainey Michael from Mercer, Lacie Lewis and Lauren Krohn of Princeton, and Bailee Hoover of Tri-County.
Princeton’s boys beat Mercer while the Pattonsburg girls beat Mercer in the district finals on Saturday, February 29th at NCMC’s Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.
