Trenton High School’s Nate Swann birdied the 4th and 7th holes, while shooting par on the other seven holes in a bogey-free round, finishing with a medalist winning score of 2-under par 32, as the Trenton Bulldogs beat the rival Chillicothe Hornets in a Tuesday afternoon, head-to-head duel at Riverside Country Club in Trenton.
Trenton’s Corbyn Guile and Chillicothe’s Hayden Montgomery tied for the second-best score of the day, both at 40. Sitting at 41 were Trenton’s Lathan Croy and Chillicothe’s Cade Snyder. Cree Mullenix of the Bulldogs shot 42, with the Hornets duo of Peyton Moritz and Jack Willard both at 43. Tucker Franklin of Trenton shot 45 and Chillicothe’s Trevor Bowling at 52.
Trenton’s team score of 155 trumped the visiting Hornets total of 167.
Both schools had three golfers in junior varsity competition, won by Trenton by a score of 161 to 191. For the Bulldogs, Luke Lewis and Conner Lovell both shot 49, with Cade Darting at 63. For Chillicothe, Alex Barnes and Christopher Bethel shot 62’s, with Benten Saale at 67.
