The Class 1, Region 4 first and second team softball honorees have been announced. The North Harrison Lady Shamrocks are the only team left standing among Region 4 (Districts 13, 14, 15, and 16) schools, with the Eagleville girls playing Canton in the Class 1 state semifinals on Friday afternoon in Springfield.
North Harrison’s pitcher, Payton Craig, is joined by the utility selection, Emma Craig, on the all-region first team. Other pitchers on the first team are Braymer’s Kelsey Stone, Platte Valley’s Liz Turpin, and West Platte’s Karah Dunham.
Infielders on the All-Region first team include Princeton’s Lindsey Batson, Braymer’s Maggie Phillips, Norborne’s Sydney McKinney, Maysville’s Cat Whiteman, DeKalb’s Kristian Goddard, and Platte Valley’s Stephanie Chor.
Princeton’s Lacie Lewis is one of four outfielders on the first team, joining DeKalb’s Morgan Parsons, Norborne’s Emma Thoeni, and West Platte’s Lea Moose. The two catchers chosen were Maysville’s Brea Blanton and Platte Valley’s Josie Deen.
The Class 1, Region 4 second team includes, from the Princeton Lady Tigers, Kylie Willett and Vivian Allen. North Harrison’s Ashlynn Gilpatrick and Brandy Rivet are on that squad, in addition to the Stanberry trio of Lily Osborn, Kalie Peterson, and Taylor McQueen.
Two King City Wildkats and two Maysville Wolverines were named all-region second team, in Grace Schottel and Shae Gilbert from the Lady ‘Kats, and Sadie Smith and Emily Brown of the Lady Wolverines.
Pattonsburg’s Katie Warford, North Nodaway’s Makayla Cross, DeKalb’s Baylee Knorr, Albany’s Michaela Martin, Polo’s Kallie Heil, and Hardin-Central’s Lacey Logsdon round out the Class 1, Region 4 softball selections.
