The Stanberry Bulldogs took a pair of semifinal victories on Thursday night, as the King City Invitational Tournament saw the pair of Bulldog squads, along with the DeKalb girls and North Andrew boys surge into the win column.
The SHS Lady Bulldogs downed North Andrew, 42-36 while the DeKalb Lady Tigers upset the host #2 seed King City Lady Wildkats, 58-40. Brittany Walters had 18 points for King City in the defeat.
The Stanberry boys, ranked #5 in the state in Class 2, defeated South Holt, 65-49, as Cory Luke had 26 points, Brad Hailey 16, and Cole Craig 13 points for the Bulldogs. Alan Ottman had 20 points for SHHS.
The North Andrew Cardinals, ranked #4 in the state in Class 1, moved into a Saturday night title showdown with Stanberry, courtesy of a 71-34 rout of Stewartsville. Jacob Powelson had 19 points and Aiden DeLong 15 for North Andrew.

The Southwest Livingston girls will play Norborne in an-all CLAA championship in the Keytesville Tournament. The Lady Wildcats beat Prairie Home in the Thursday night semifinals, 58-40. The Southwest-Norborne game is set for Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Higbee and Prairie Home will play in the boys title game at Keytesville at 3 o’clock on Saturday afternoon. The Southwest Livingston boys, on Thursday night, claimed a 78-34 consolation semifinal victory over Bunceton, moving the Wildcats into the consolation final, tonight (Friday night) at 6:15 against Bevier.
