Sporting Kansas City’s winless slump to begin the 2023 season has reached six games, after a scoreless draw on Saturday night against the Philadelphia Union in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Tim Melia of Kansas City matched Union goalkeeper Andre Blake in achieving shutouts. The draw pushes Sporting’s record to 0-3-3, while Philadelphia is 2-3-1. Sporting’s winless streak in Philadelphia has now reached a decade, with the last win in 2013.
In Saturday night’s game, Philadelphia had 17 shots to Kansas City’s 13, with both teams putting four shots on net.
Philadelphia will play at FC Cincinnati on Saturday, April 8th, with Sporting Kansas City hosting the rival Colorado Rapids on the same day.
