The South Harrison Lady Bulldogs started slow but finished with a furious comeback on Tuesday night, winning at Trenton High School in varsity volleyball action, 8-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22, 15-12.
Trenton, in the marathon match, was led by Jacole Simpson with 9 aces and 22 digs, with Saige Gott putting down 14 kills, and Emma Radaelli with 15 assists.
South Harrison won the first two matches of the night in dominant fashion, with the JV results going 25-11, 25-22 and the freshman battle going 25-6, 25-20.
THS head coach Brad Ewald, in comments to KTTNSports.com, said “Our girls played hard. We definitely came out a lot stronger than South Harrison, but their defense finally woke up and we had a hard time finishing enough points. It gives us something to work on today in practice, and hopefully we’ll come out on the winning side the next time we see them.”
South Harrison will play next on Saturday, playing in the Chillicothe Tournament. Kirksville will host Trenton on Thursday night.
