The Seattle Mariners have traded for infielder/outfielder Samad Taylor from the Kansas City Royals. In exchange, the Royals will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Taylor, 25, made his MLB debut last season, playing in 31 games for the Royals. During his time in the majors, he hit .200 with 11 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Before his call-up, Taylor had an impressive stint at Triple-A Omaha, where he batted .302 with 23 doubles, 55 RBIs, 43 stolen bases, and an .884 OPS in 89 games.
Known for his versatility, Taylor played in multiple positions after joining the Royals, including left field, second base, third base, and center field.
Originally a 10th-round pick by Cleveland in 2016, Taylor brings a mix of skills and positional flexibility to the Mariners.
