The Missouri Tigers, according to an online report from FBSSchedules.com, have filled a non-conference slot for the 2021 football season. For just the second time in the history of the schools, it appears that the University of North Texas Mean Green will play Mizzou.
UNT is a school based in Denton, Texas (just north of Dallas/Fort Worth), and played the Tigers in 1995, a 28-7 win for MU. Since then, the Mean Green has struggled to find on-the-field success, although the program has found more stability with a move into Conference USA.
The game will be one of 3 “non-Power 5” games allowed for Mizzou in 2021. The game is expected to be played on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Faurot Field in Columbia.
