The Putnam County Midgets continued their strong start to the baseball season on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Princeton Tigers 10-0 to win the championship game of the Putnam County Tournament in Unionville.
Putnam County beat Green City in the semifinal round 13-2, with Princeton doubling up Scotland County 10-5. In the third place game, Green City defeated Scotland County in the closest game of the day, 7-5.
The Trenton Bulldogs traveled to Faucett, Missouri on Saturday to play in the Mid-Buchanan Tournament, with the Bulldogs struggling with an 11-2 loss to St. Joseph Christian and an 21-0 setback to the Mid-Buchanan Dragons. Mid-Buchanan downed St. Joseph Christian to win the title game, 2-1.
North Harrison went 0-2 at the Northeast Nodaway “Tri”, falling to Northland Christian 6-3 and the Northeast Nodaway Blue Jays, 10-0. Northeast Nodaway shutout Northland Christian, 8-0.
