Two power programs from the Eastern Division of the Grand River Conference will join the Schuyler County Lady Rams and Brookfield Lady ‘Dogs in a four-team softball jamboree to kick-start the high school softball season on Saturday, August 12th.
Putnam County High School will utilize its ‘north’ and ‘south’ fields, welcoming the teams already mentioned, in addition to Class 2 state quarterfinalist and defending Grand River Conference champion Trenton for the event, running from 10 o’clock in the morning until approximately 1:30.
Admission will be a free will donation, with the concession stand to be open for operation during the jamboree. Each ‘mini-game’ will consist of three innings, with each half-inning declared over when either three outs are gained by the defense, or the offense scores eight runs.
In the 10 o’clock session, the Trenton Lady Bulldogs play the host Putnam County Lady Midgets in a GRC East rivalry match on the North Field, with Brookfield tangling with Schuyler County on the South Field. At 11 o’clock, Trenton moves over to the South Field to battle Schuyler County, while Putnam County welcomes Brookfield to the North Field. The 12 noon games will find Trenton staying on the South Field to play Brookfield, while Putnam County hosts Schuyler County on the North Field.
