The Putnam County Midgets took down the Trenton Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon in Grand River Conference baseball action by a score of 10-0. The game in Unionville was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule, with the Midgets scoring four runs in the first, before adding on to the lead with one run in the 2nd, two in the 4th, and three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Trenton’s bats were held to just two base hits in the contest, with Putnam County pitching combining for 11 strikeouts. Trenton’s pitching staff walked nine batters and struck out only two, allowing six hits, as the THS defense committed a pair of errors, leading to three of the 10 runs to be scored of the unearned variety.
